Easy Lasagna Recipe

Homemade lasagna can be a long process, but not this recipe! A classic lasagna recipe uses extra cheeses (like ricotta cheese or cottage cheese) as well as tomatoes and various ingredients. This pasta has all the great flavor but takes a total time of 20 minutes to assemble and 1 hour to cook.

Ingredients:

  1. ground beef – can be substituted with Italian sausage or ground turkey
  2. spaghetti sauce
  3. uncooked lasagna noodles
  4. mozzarella cheese.

Supplies Needed:

  • 8×10 baking dish
  • non-stick spray
  • large frying pan
  • cheese grater
  • stirring spoon
  • aluminum foil
Ingredients

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare an 8 x 10 casserole dish with non-stick spray. The noodles fit perfectly in this size dish. Cook the ground beef in a large skillet on medium heat. Drain the grease and return the pan to the stove to simmer over low heat.

Add a jar of spaghetti sauce.  Add about 1/2 cup cold water to the empty jar and swirl around to loosen any sauce still in the jar and pour it all into the pan as well.

In the baking dish start by pouring 1/3 of the meat sauce into the bottom of the dish. Top it with 3 uncooked noodles. Layer 1/3 of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the noodles. Repeat with another layer of meat sauce, noodles, and cheese. Pour the remaining sauce over the top of the cheese and add the remaining 1/3 of the cheese to top the meat.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove from heat and let sit for about 10 minutes to allow the layers to firm up.  Serve with parmesan cheese, garlic bread, and maybe even a side salad to complete the meal. This really is one of the best pasta recipes when you’re short on time!

  • 16 ounce block of mozzarella cheese
  • 6 uncooked lasagna noodles

  • Grate the mozzarella cheese
  • Prepare an 8 x 10 casserole dish with non-stick spray. 
  • Cook the ground beef in a large skillet on medium heat. Drain the grease and return the pan to the stove to simmer over low heat.

  • Pour the remaining meat sauce on top and sprinkle on the last of the mozarella cheese.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  • Remove from heat and let sit for about 10 minutes to allow the layers to firm up. Letting the lasagna sit a little before cutting it allows the layers to set up before serving.
