Cooking Methods

If you’re making these in an air fryer, toss the chopped bacon, bacon grease, and Brussels sprouts together in a mixing bowl. Arrange sprouts in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for about 15 minutes or until browned, tossing once or twice.

If you’re making them stovetop, add the sprouts to the pan with the bacon grease. Simmer for 5 minutes and then add the crumbled bacon back in. Cook until tender.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. To reheat, place on a lightly oiled baking sheet in a 350° oven for about 5 minutes.

Parmesan cheese on top

Recipe Tips

Optional: Sprinkle fresh parmesan cheese on top once served.

If you prefer a much softer sprout, boil in salted water for 5 minutes. Drain and gently press in a strainer to remove as much excess water as possible. Use a paper towel and squeeze gently to remove as much surface water as possible. The more water you’re able to remove, the crispier the exterior will become.

Spritz with a citrus of your choice for an added dimension of flavor. Lemon brings a bright note that cuts through the richness of the sprouts and bacon. Orange adds a sweet note to compliment the savoriness.
