Pecan Pie Brownies are fudgy chocolate brownies topped with a pecan pie filling for an irresistible treat. This is a Thanksgiving dessert FAVORITE but is delicious all year long. These decadent brownies disappear quickly!
Pecan Pie Brownies
Pecan pie is a must-have dessert for the holidays. Instead of making an additional pie, these brownies will be the perfect addition to the holiday dessert spread. The combination of chocolate and pecan pie flavor is even better than your classic pecan pie.
Ingredients:
- Box brownie mix – plus package specific ingredients to make brownies:
- Sugar
- Light corn syrup
- Eggs
- Butter
- Vanilla extract
- Pecans
Instructions:
You can use your favorite homemade brownie recipe, or you can use a box of brownies to save time. These brownies will be very decadent because the pecan pie filling soaks into the brownie as it bakes in a 9×13 baking dish.
For this recipe, you can use whole or chopped pecans. I prefer roughly chopped pecans because they are more bite-sized. Pecans add the perfect amount of crunch and salt to the sweet brownies.
While the brownie batter is baking in the oven, combine all pecan pie filling ingredients except the pecans in a medium sauce pan. whisk for about 10-15 minutes. The melted butter and sugar mixture will bubble and rise while you are stirring and then fall back down as it begins to caramelize.
Once the mixture is thick and jelly-like in consistency and medium honey in color, remove the mixture from heat and sprinkle the pecans in. Pour the pecan pie layer onto the brownie layer and spread evenly.Â
Return the baking pan to the oven for another 30 minutes. The pecan pie filling will flatten and have small bubbles when finished baking. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before cutting to serve.
Pecan Pie Brownies make the kitchen smell delicious as they bake! Once the brownies are cooled and cut, serve them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a glass of cold milk! Be sure to save this recipe on Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram for later.
