I love how simple this recipe is. You’ll only need 5 ingredients (aside from salt and pepper). Here’s a shopping list for you. For precise measurements, scroll to the recipe card below.
- Olive oil
- Sirloin steak – You could use a different cut of steak if you’d like. Ribeye, New York strip steak, or tenderloin would be great.Â
- Salt and pepper
- Butter
- Garlic
- Fresh parsley (optional garnish)
Supplies:
You won’t need anything fancy to make these steak bites. But do make sure you have the following.
- Measuring spoons
- A large, heavy-bottomed skillet or cast iron skillet
- Spatula or spoon
Instructions:
Sear the steak. Heat the olive oil over medium-high heat in a large, heavy-bottomed skillet. Season the steak bites with salt and pepper and add them to the pan. Cook until browned on all sides, stirring occasionally. Transfer the seared steak to a plate and set aside. Do not crowd the pan. Brown the steak in batches if necessary.Â
Sauté the garlic. Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the butter to the pan. Once the butter has melted, add the garlic and sauté until fragrant.Â
Finish cooking the steak. Stir the seared steak into the garlic butter and cook for 1 minute, spooning the juices in the pan over the steak intermittently.Â
Serve. Transfer the steak bites to a serving platter, spoon the sauce over the steak, season with additional salt and pepper (if needed), and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.Â
What to Serve with Steak
- Mashed Potatoes
- Salad
- Veggies like green beans, broccoli, or asparagus
- Rice
- Bread rolls
Storage
- To store. Allow the steak to cool to room temperature before sealing it in an airtight container (don’t you dare leave that sauce behind). You can store garlic butter steak bites in the fridge for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
- To reheat. Transfer the leftovers to the fridge to thaw (if frozen) and then load them into a baking dish. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake at 350°F for 15 minutes or until heated through. You can also microwave steak bites in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until warm.
