  • Foil or parchment paper - If you don’t have parchment paper, you can brush your pan with oil. 
  • Mixing bowl
  • pastry brush - If you don’t have a pastry brush, you can just spoon the sauce onto the ribs.

Ingredients
  

For the Ribs:

  • 2-3 pounds baby back pork ribs
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper cracked
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne powder
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

For the Sauce:

  • 2 cups BBQ sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons minced roasted garlic
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions
 

  • Prepare your oven and baking sheet. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Remove the Silverskin. Use a small paring knife to separate the silverskin on the underside of the ribs. Use a paper towel to grip the loosened silverskin and peel it completely off the bone side of the ribs. Place them on your prepared baking sheet.
  • Make the spice mixture. In a bowl, combine the garlic salt, onion powder, smoked paprika, pepper, chili powder, and cayenne pepper, and sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.
  • Drizzle with oil. Drizzle both sides with oil and rub the seasoning into the meat. Cover the baking tray and ribs with foil and bake for 2 hours.
  • Make the BBQ sauce. While the ribs cook, combine the BBQ sauce, minced roasted garlic, Worcestershire sauce, honey, and red pepper flakes.
  • Increase the oven temperature. Remove the ribs from the oven and increase the oven temperature to 450°F.
  • Brush with sauce. While you wait for the oven to come to temperature, remove the foil and brush with BBQ sauce before baking for another 10 minutes uncovered.
  • Broil. For the final 3-5 minutes of cooking, set your oven to broil on medium-high heat to lightly char the meat and caramelize the sugars in the sauce. This step is optional.
  • Rest and serve. Allow the meat to rest for 10 minutes before slicing so the juices have a chance to reabsorb into the meat. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

Storage Instructions:
If you have leftover baked ribs, you can store them in the refrigerator. Allow the ribs to cool completely. Once cooled, transfer them to an airtight container or resealable bag. They will keep for 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
How can I reheat this dish?
Reheat your baked ribs in the oven or microwave.
  • Oven: Remove the ribs from the container and place them onto a foil-lined baking sheet. Cook at 350°F for 15-20 minutes until warm throughout.
  • Microwave: Place your baked ribs on a microwave-safe plate and heat them for 3-4 minutes on 50% power.
Can I make this ahead of time and freeze it?
This baked ribs recipe freezes and thaws well, making it the perfect make-ahead meal. Cook as directed and allow the ribs to cool completely. Slice them into individual ribs or small enough to fit into a freezer bag. Label and date the bag, and freeze your ribs for up to 3 months. Thaw completely before reheating.
Baby Bake ribs vs. Spare ribs.
You can use either. The difference is that baby back ribs come from higher up in the ribs, are smaller (hence the baby name, not from baby pigs), and are more tender. Spare ribs are from the lower rib cage, are bigger, and more fatty, which gives them a nice flavor and tenderness.
