Equipment

  • Parchment Paper
  • sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Casserole dish
  • small microwave safe bowl
  • Basting brush (optional)

Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough sheet
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ cup bacon bits (fresh or pre-made)
  • 8 pieces sliced colby jack cheese, or cheese of choice
  • 7 slices turkey, or protein of choice

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F
  • Open the crescent roll sheet dough and stretch out or roll out using a rolling pin, to be approximately 9x13 inches, on a piece of parchment paper or floured surface.
  • Melt the butter with the garlic, salt, and pepper. Brush on the crescent dough using a basting brush in an even layer (or drizzle over evenly with a spoon)
  • Leaving about 1/2 inch at the bottom, lay the 8 pieces of cheese into two rolls. This will leave the top 1/3 of the crescent roll dough empty.
  • Sprinkle the bacon bits onto the cheese.
  • Situate the turkey slices to cover the cheese, using two layers if needed and overlapping.
  • From the bottom, roll tightly upward, enclosing the turkey and cheese in the roll up.
  • Pull the top 1/3 of the dough tightly and the butter will act as glue to hold down the seam.
  • Cut into 10 equal rounds. Lay the rounds in a non-stick sprayed casserole dish.
  • Bake for 25 minutes until dough is baked, puffy, and golden browned on top.

Notes

Helpful Tips:
Brush oil, egg wash, or additional melted butter on top to help brown and stick toppings if desired.
